IECA Mentor Match

IECA's Mentor Match program is a networking and career development tool dedicated to providing valuable support and development to IECA Professional and Associate members.

As an IECA member, you can take advantage of this program—at no cost—to receive best practices and tips from expert colleagues. It provides opportunities for experienced IECs to help guide the next generation of IECs, and gives all members, regardless of experience level, opportunities to learn from each other. This relationship may be structured with regular contacts or on an informal as-needed basis. Your mentor or mentee can be in the same city or on the other side of the world.

Participants in the Mentor Match program are paired with a fellow IECA colleague based on professional skills that the mentee wants to acquire and that the mentor has to offer. Mentees will be required to develop a specific set of learning goals which form the basis of the mentor-mentee relationship, and mentors are asked to work with the mentee on advancing these goals.

In order for the mentoring relationship to succeed, both the mentor and mentee must clearly understand their roles. All mentees and mentors are required to follow the guidelines on the Program Requirements tab.

How to Enroll

You can apply to the Mentor Match program as a Mentor or Mentee in three simple steps:

1. Enroll

Sign in using your IECA login credentials and enroll in the Mentoring program by completing the enrollment form. Once enrolled, you'll be able to search for and connect with mentors/mentees.

2. Search

You can view available mentors and mentees and see what categories you matched on.
You can also filter the results to narrow your choices.

3. Connect

Hover your cursor over the member you would like to match with. You can select the ‘view’ icon to view their profile and determine if they would make a good match for you. You can then request a connection and send a personalized message. You'll see pending connections on your dashboard once you are enrolled.
