The IECA Mentor Match Program is a professional networking and career development opportunity designed exclusively for IECA Professional and Associate Members.
Participation is free and provides access to practical insights, best practices, and guidance from experienced IEC colleagues.
For Mentees
Gain clarity on your professional goals, build new skills, and receive personalized guidance from an experienced IECA mentor.
For Mentors
Share your expertise, support emerging IECs, and contribute meaningfully to the IECA community.
How the Program Works
- Participants are matched based on professional skills, experience, and learning goals.
- Mentees define specific objectives that guide the mentor–mentee relationship.
- Mentors support growth through advice, insight, and real-world experience.
How to Enroll
Getting started with IECA Mentor Match is quick and easy.

1. Login
Sign into IECA Mentor Match using your login credentials. You will then see your Dashboard.
2. Enroll
Click the Enroll Now! button to complete the Mentor Match enrollment form. Once enrolled, you’ll gain access to search and connect features.
3. Search
Click on the Search & Connect button to browse available mentors and mentees and view where your skills, interests, and experience align. Use filters to narrow your results.
4. Connect
Review member profiles, request a connection, and send a personalized message. Pending requests will appear on your Dashboard.
5. Engage
Regularly set goals, schedule check-ins, and communicate through the platform to build momentum and ensure a successful, lasting mentorship connection.
Program Requirements
To ensure a successful and rewarding mentoring experience, all participants are expected to meet the requirements below.
General Program Requirements
- Mentors and mentees must be willing to assume and honor their respective roles as defined by the program.
- Both mentors and mentees are required to complete the Mentor Match enrollment form.
- Mentors may work with more than one mentee but should ensure each mentee receives adequate time and support.
- Mentees may participate with only one mentor at a time.
Mentors must be current IECA members in good standing and committed to supporting their mentees’ growth.
- Complete the Mentor Match enrollment form so mentees can evaluate potential matches.
- Meet with mentees at least once per month.
- Lead the first discovery call using the Mentor Discovery Call Guidelines .
- Review topics provided in advance and come prepared with relevant resources or experiences.
- Attend scheduled calls punctually and provide advance notice if rescheduling is required.
- Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and a supportive, nurturing approach at all times.
Mentees must be current IECA members in good standing and actively engaged in the mentoring relationship.
- Complete the Mentor Match enrollment form to support effective matching.
- Initiate the relationship by inviting a mentor through Mentor Match.
- Drive the relationship by setting clear goals and taking responsibility for progress.
- Communicate with mentors at least once per month and schedule meetings proactively.
- Come prepared with questions and share discussion topics in advance whenever possible.
- Honor scheduled commitments and maintain professional, courteous communication.
